Privacy Policy

Lockout! is published by Zellerhaus, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Lockout! mobile app for iOS and Android and the website at lockoutthegame.com. We have tried to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, write to support@lockoutthegame.com.

The short version

• You do not need an account to play. We never ask for your real name, address or phone number.
• Your game progress is stored on your own device.
• The app and the browser game show ads, and the app uses analytics. The companies that provide those services collect device data.
• Giving us your email address is optional.
• We do not sell your personal information.

What the app stores on your device

The player name you type, your settings, saved games, XP, level, badges, quest progress and unlocked themes are saved locally on your phone. We do not receive a copy. Deleting the app deletes this data.

What is collected through the app

• Advertising (Google AdMob). The free version of the app shows ads. Google collects your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general location derived from it, and how you interact with ads, and may use this to show personalized ads. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
• Purchases (RevenueCat, Apple, Google). If you buy the ad-free upgrade, Apple or Google processes the payment. We never see your card details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history so the app can recognize and restore what you bought.
• Analytics (Vexo). We record how the app is used: screens viewed, games started and finished, difficulty chosen, crashes, and device details such as model, operating system version and country. This is tied to an anonymous device identifier, not to your name. We use it to find bugs and decide what to improve.
• Email address (optional). The app may ask whether you would like updates by email. If you say yes, we store your address with our database provider, Supabase, and use it only to send news about Lockout!. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or write to support@lockoutthegame.com and we will delete it.

What the website collects

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP address and browser type. The browser version of the game saves your game in progress in your own browser's local storage; it is not sent to us. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to count visits, games played in the browser and clicks on the download buttons. Google Analytics uses cookies and records your approximate location and device type.

The page where you play the game in your browser shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many ad networks at aboutads.info. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.

How long we keep data

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form. Data held by Google, Apple, RevenueCat and Vexo is kept according to their own policies.

Your choices and rights

• Turn off personalized ads in your phone's settings (iOS: Privacy & Security, Tracking. Android: Settings, Google, Ads).
• Remove ads entirely with the in-app ad-free purchase.
• Decline the email prompt. The game works the same without it.
• Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK and California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. Write to support@lockoutthegame.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Lockout! is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us an email address, contact support@lockoutthegame.com and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
