LOCKOUT!

The physical edition

Lockout! on your table.
Should we make it?

We're deciding whether to produce Lockout! as a real tabletop game: a roll-up play mat, control markers, and the deck of cards you already have in a drawer. Enough names on this list and it happens.

One email if it happens. No spam, and you can ask to be removed any time.

Concept for the Lockout! play mat: three zones of card spaces labeled A to K, with marker spots above each space and two discard areas
Concept design. The final mat may differ.
The original hand-drawn Lockout! prototype in colored pencil on taped-together paper

It started like this

Colored pencil, printer paper and tape. Green for A-2-3, blue for 4 to 10, red for J-Q-K, a circle above each space for the marker, and two discard piles labeled "counts negative". This sheet is where Lockout! began.

The app has since been played in 50+ countries. We'd like to bring it back to where it began. Read the rules.

What would be in the box

Two ideas. Prices are our best estimate today, not a promise.

Roll-up mat + markers

~$20

You already own the deck.

  • Roll-up play mat, about 24" × 18"
  • 26 control markers in two colors
  • Rules card

Complete boxed set

~$30

Everything in one box. The one you gift.

  • Roll-up play mat
  • 26 control markers
  • Custom four-color Lockout! deck
  • Illustrated rulebook

You already own half of it

Lockout! is played with an ordinary 52-card deck. The mat and the markers are the only parts that are ours.

It was a table game first

The app came second. Lockout! began as two people, a deck of cards and a hand-drawn board.

Rolls up, goes anywhere

A mat fits in a tube or a backpack, costs little to post, and cards slide across it properly.

Want it on your table?

It only gets made if enough people say so.
